During my visit in August to client in Czech republic I had few hours to spend in Prague which I used to walk around center and have dinner. Here are few photos with short comments. If you didn’t visit Prague yet, do it, highly recommended. It is awesome town with lot to see, eat and drink.

Of course, while in Prague, take some time to visit few shops with alcohol, specially with absinthe. Offer is better than on airport with similar prices. In many shops you can get some tax return papers, so when on airport, you can claim tax refund. It usually takes 10-15 minutes to find office and fill paperwork, but it can save you 20% of expenses which is nice. I bought 3 bottles during this visit. I’ve noticed some bottles that have big hard-shell bugs inside, would not recommend those. At least not for consumption, but as a present to other people I guess it is ok.

Approach to Karl’s bridge was crowded during this Saturday. Last time I was there it was Sunday morning, and then also was a lot of people. And it was during winter. Bunch of tourists, entertainers, painters etc. I made it to the half of the bridge and then returned back because of extreme and slow crowd.

Bored and tired from crowd I stopped for early dinner at Restaurant U Malvaze, few dozens of meters from bridge. They had nice menu, part of which you can see below with prices.

In my plate was “Confit of duck legs” and it was excellent. Specially dumplings which I now ate for the first time. I liked them more than German variant. But recipe was quite classical – meat, bread and cabbage, very common in central Europe.

And of course, for proper consumption of absinthe, one should have absinthe spoons. These were little bit overpriced, with 8e each, but I was looking for them for some longer time so I couldn’t miss a chance. Now I can in peace look for better and cheaper alternative.

It might look annoying and stupid the way I described what is on photos – quite vague using “random”, “some” etc. words. I did it because I don’t know what are those, and I actually don’t care so much. I plan anyway to visit this awesome city many more times and I’ll patiently wait for this knowledge to appear in front of me. Also, this might motivate you to go there and look for yourself, and you should.
